MEET DAVE OBRAND

Dave Obrand is an attorney and longtime resident of Orange County who is rooted in the values of hard work and has dedicated his career to helping people and making things work better.

Raised as the son of a public school teacher, Dave is a proud product of California’s public schools through college. A student athlete, Dave pursued higher education at El Camino College and played football before going on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree from UCLA. He went on to earn multiple scholarships to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona College of Law.

Dave has spent the last ten years as a licensed litigation attorney. His experience includes representing California school districts in all aspects of federal and state litigation, including special education, employment law, constitutional claims, facilities and construction, personal injury, contract disputes, public records requests, and appeals. Today, Dave serves our community as Deputy County Counsel for Orange County, and he’s worked hard to advocate for the most vulnerable members of the community as a former member of the Child Protection Trial Unit.

A proud resident of Tustin, Dave and his wife, Patricia, are proudly raising their daughter in Orange County and enjoying all that the County has to offer. He enjoys watching the Bruins and Dodgers, writing screenplays and children’s stories, and most of all, spending time with his family.

CALIFORNIA’S 59TH ASSEMBLY DISTRICT

Based in Orange County and a portion of San Bernardino County, the 59th Assembly District covers Anaheim Hills, Chino Hills, Chino, Brea, Fullerton, Tustin, Orange, Placentia, Yorba Linda, and Villa Park. There are nearly 300,000 registered voters who are diverse in ethnicity with significant shares of Asian, Latino, and white voters.

With high voter turnout expected in the upcoming presidential primary and general elections, a Democrat has a strong chance to motivate the electorate and flip this Republican-held seat.
